![]() ![]() Each year ARSA presents two prestigious awards to outstanding Arizona educators: the County Teacher's of the Year Awards and the Arizona Teacher of the Year award. Award winners receive plaques acknowledging their achievements and recognition. The Arizona Teacher of the Year award winner also receives a check for $1000 as well as an all expense paid trip to the annual National Rural Education Association Convention. All State winners also have their their names engraved on a large plaque that is housed at Northern Arizona University. 2009 Teacher of the YearCongratulations to the 2009 Teacher of the Year, Laura Soto, from the Hyder School District in Yuma. As the Teacher of the Year, Laura was presented with a plaque and a check for $1000 from the Arizona Rural Schools Association. Among other responsibilities, she will represent Arizona in the annual NREA Educator of the Year competition sponsored by the Nation Rural Education Association. 2009 AZ County Teachers of the YearWe will have the quotes for our outstanding teachers shortly.
