The ARSA Hall of Fame honors individuals who have contributed to rural education over a period of many years and has served the cause of rural educators. Selection is made by a committee that consists of the Executive Board and two other members-at-large. Those selected are not necessarily members of ARSA.

2009 Hall of Fame Inductees Bob Sloncen, Don Aycock, and Dr. Bill Stuart

Bob Sloncen is known as an outstanding educator, a child advocate, and a community spokesman in and around Yuma County. He was instrumental in getting Head Start, a mobile health clinic, and a new school for Dateland.

Don Aycock, a retired principal and superintendent from the Yarnell Elementary School District in Yavapai County, worked relentlessly to overcome numerous obstacles to build a new school, which today stands as the focal point of the community.

Dr. Bill Stuart, a recognized education advocate and an accomplished coach, retired from the Antelope Union High School District and served as the Executive Director for ARSA for four years.
