GCU Call for Rural Elementary Principals to Participate in Research Study
Hello. I am a doctoral learner under the direction of Professor Tara Chavez in the College of Doctoral Studies at Grand Canyon University. My name is Brenda Marie Mabey. I am conducting a research study to explore how novice elementary rural school principals describe using situational leadership to address rural school leadership challenges.
INCLUSION - I am recruiting individuals that meet these criteria:
- You are an elementary school principal in Arizona in a rural school.
- You have no more than three years of experience as a rural school principal.
- You have access to technology allowing you to use Zoom.
EXCLUSION - You cannot be in this study if:
- You are not a school principal in a rural school.
- You have more than three years of experience as a rural school principal.
- You do not have access to technology allowing you to use Zoom.
- You do not reside in Arizona.
The ACTIVITIES for this research project will include:
You will participate in an interview and a be asked to participate in the focus group. The screening questionnaire is for all participants to ensure you qualify to participate. Here are the time commitments for each activity:
- Interview via Zoom (30 – 45 minutes) audio recorded.
- Focus Group via Zoom (60 – 90 minutes) audio recorded.
Your participation in this study is voluntary. All data in this study will be protected by securing it in either a fireproof locked safe or password-protected computer saved in a password-protected cloud account. Items such as field notes that are not digital will be stored in the safe.
