New ADA Rules for School and District Websites
July 25, 2024
Is your school website ADA compliant? New rules regarding ADA go into effect in April 2026 for districts with a district boundary population of larger than 50,000, and April 2027 for districts with a district boundary population smaller than 50,000. Under the new rule, public school districts must meet Level AA of Web Content Accessibility
Guidelines (“WCAG”) Version 2. These rules apply to district and school websites, mobile apps, social media posts and digital course content.
